Tort Reform
Tort reform is a topic on which the incumbent and I completely disagree. Very few people recognize the free market regulatory service free and open litigation provides. Because lawyers monitor the health care industry, there is no need for a government agency to do the same thing. There are many hidden costs to what seems to be improperly called reform. The rights signed away seem to be a huge cost just to get a mere chance for drop in health care costs. No rational business person voluntarily passes cost saving on to customers. The lost rights are a sure thing. Lower prices are just a maybe. The incumbent makes reference to shady trial lawyers but he doesn't mention any names. "The Federal government should follow Texas's lead in enacting real tort reform that progects patients but also puts shady trial lawyers out of business."
