Extreme Sobriety

DSC_0159It usually takes a twelve step program to get an addict off of drugs or alcohol. It is a great thing when that happens. Unfortunately, the addict along with almost everyone else is still intoxicated.

Being drunk on fantasies is harder to overcome than alcoholism. When studying history, political science, sociology, psychology, economics and countless other subjects fantasies are a serious handicap. It is hard to purge oneself of fantasies because fantasies are the material on which happiness is based. Who wants to be unhappy?

Times are trying and becoming more so. With the campaign season heating up it is going to interesting to see who Americans pick. Citizens will flock to the poles drunk on fantasies and their fantasies are what will determine how they vote.

We would be better off if citizens were sober with respect their fantasies on election and drunk on alcohol.
